NYU financial journalism students spend 48 hours in Scranton

Last weekend Stephen Solomon, the Marjorie Deane Professor of Journalism at New York University, took 14 students on the MA in Business and Economic Reporting to Lackawanna County, PA, to report on the midterm elections. This was a county, traditionally Democratic, which swung about 25,000 votes toward Donald Trump at the presidential election in 2016, helping him to a 43,000 vote win in Pennsylvania. The students, who have completed only eight weeks in their first semester, reported and wrote 18 stories focusing on business and politics, and then designed their own website called 48 Hours in Scranton. Their work can be found here.
