I came to journalism in quite an organic way: writing and editing for the student paper at Manchester University, where I was studying maths and physics. Financial journalism seemed like a good fit because it involves a mix of data driven and analytical reporting, as well as writing. I thought it would be a great career, which would allow me to develop and use a wide range of skills. I’m mostly interested in how developments in technology are changing the way we work, and also all things data related. I’m really thankful for the Marjorie Deane scholarship. It has been instrumental in allowing me to take this course and build my CV by interning during my studies.
