Shyamli Badgaiyan has recently started an internship at The Economist in its Business Affairs Department, funded by the Marjorie Deane Financial Journalism Foundation. She writes:
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to write for The Economist. In less than a month, I’ve been able to observe and be a part of the writing process, and see it through from pitch to print. I encourage those considering the Marjorie Deane internship to apply: it is the sort of role that keeps you curious and engaged with the world around you, and in the company of kind, intelligent colleagues. It’s rigorous and challenging, but in a good way.
Prior to the Economist, I was a student at Harvard Business School. I have experience across the public, private and non-profit sectors in the UK, India, Hong Kong and Singapore, and hold a BA in philosophy, politics & economics from the University of Oxford. I am from Delhi, India.
