The studentship will cover some or all of the fees for a course at a prominent British university or business school that leads to a Master´s degree in finance or economics. The deadline for studentship applications is May 16th 2010.

For more information about internships at The Economist and to apply online, click here. The internship is designed to provide work experience for a promising journalist or would-be journalist, who will spend three months at The Economist writing about economics and finance. The deadline for internship applications is April 23rd 2010.

The application period for internships at the Financial Times will open later this year. An announcement will be made on this site as well as in the newspaper.

We are also pleased to announce a major redesign of the foundation´s website. With expanded information about the foundation, internship and studentship alumni, and Marjorie Deane herself, the site will serve as a resource for young journalists or would-be journalists with interest in financial issues. The foundation aims to promote the understanding of financial markets and institutions, and in particular to foster excellence in financial journalism.
