Sam Blake starts as an intern for The Economist in New York

Sam Blake recently started as an intern supported by the foundation at The Economist’s offices in New York. He writes:

“Thank you to the Marjorie Deane Foundation for the remarkable opportunity to work at The Economist this autumn. The newspaper has long been a favorite of mine and it is exhilarating to join in on the process of bringing it to life as a writer and reporter. My career path to date reflects my wide interests. I’ve worked in quality assurance for a healthcare software firm and for Major League Baseball Advanced Media (now Disney Streaming Services), worked as an analyst for the United States government, written and reported for National Public Radio, co-founded two startups, and most recently served as a hybrid analyst-project manager at the XPRIZE Foundation. Along the way I earned an MPP from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.”
